Around here my sweetheart, summer has been so good to us. Fulfilling all those promises that I dreamed about during some cold, dark winter days. Actually, for me, the spring rain/mud is the toughest time of year. In any case, the sweet smell of summer is still in the air and we have had plenty of down time to enjoy it, bask in it, and daydream. But we have also been here and there these last few weeks and a recap is in order.
Day trip to Helena. Toured the capital building. Rode the carousel. Had ice cream. Visited their amazingingly amazing children's museum. And stopped over at the Archie Bray Foundation to see what some important potters have been up to.
Here is when the "Newest" Governor spoke. Mostly about alternative energy. Not much about jobs or the dwindling economy...
What did I say? Amazing.
Admiring the pottery. Taking in some art.
We hit the local pool, Bogert. The slides (not pictured) were scary then undeniable fun. The water was cold, cold, cold despite the heat in the air.
A barn party. This barn dance reminded me of how much that girl loves music and dancing. She is suffering from a debilitating splinter but still couldn't remove herself from the scene. Tears were shed.
There's definitely an art to this kind of dancing. They were kicking it up!
Crawdad fishin'. Strange but true.
We had a graduation to a big (ger) kid bike. A hand-me-down from brother to sister and before that from a garage sale. We still haven't determined who Pikachu is but she makes a mean ride.
Many, oh, many, oh many lego structures are being built around here.
And our faithful friend the library has been a constant this summer. There was little else that was academic but the books and books-on-CD have been plentiful and I hoping this will be enough to connect last school year to our next school year. Summer reading...
There. That's what's been here and there for us.
