Lincoln, lincoln, I've been thinking...
For some reason, this little "poem" is stuck in my head. It is true - I have been thinking. Just not about what Lincoln is drinkin'... Oh enough.
As April zips by (and as I have been hoping it would zip on faster) I thought it might be better to slow it all down because what is the rush, anyway? I have been wishing for warmer weather but the truth is, there is no amount of wishing that will warm up this part of the earth. It is what it is. No more, no less. That means, I need to adjust my proverbial glasses and take a new look.
And I find that making a list of the things that I am diggin' at the moment helps me change that gear.
Here goes:
1. A buttery, fresh croissant from Cafe Francais Des Arts with a cup of organic coffee. I told the sweet French woman there that I would tell everyone I know to come into her cafe since her business is slow and she doesn't want to close down. (She didn't seem to mind when I told her I really didn't know many people here yet...although, she may have been less excited.)
2. My stress fractured foot is feeling better. Still achy at times, but better.
3. Easter basket delight.
4. Potato sack races
5. Soccer season starts tomorrow and his shin pads still fit...for the third season!
6. The Postmistress. A borrowed gift from a friend. I am drawn in and taken away..the way only a good book can.
7. Stephen Colbert. His schtick on the recent Planned Parenthood discussion in the news made me laugh out loud. Hard. I keep cracking up remembering this line, "...between the swiffer refills and the cat food. Just look for the stirrups!" Oh, too much.
8. Brothers
9. "Fishy" the bunny
10. Local Chevre from Amaltheia Farm. Made from their own animals living right under the Bridger Mountain Range. Kinda like us.
11. Braised chicken and spring vegetables for dinner. Radishes, carrots, chives braised to deliciousdom and back.
12. My new mantra: Slow. Down. Spring.
