I have been planning an "unprocrastination day" - where I do all those things on my list that I have been meaning to do forever - but in my planning I have been getting a lot done. Just not what is on my list.
This weekend was about that. I was crossing things off my other list (the non-unproscrastination day list) left and right. Doing a little bit - here and there. Maybe I just need to plan an unproscrastination day every so often to get things moving.
We skied.
And fell down. But got back up to...
fill our bags at our local library sale. The deal was "all you can put in your bag for a buck!" We overflowed our bags as fast as we could and then came home to check out our loot.
We could hardly eat lunch because the books were that good.
I finally bought (not made, as originally planned) some pillows for our built-in benches and put a collection of Native American pottery up in the built-in display cases above the fireplace. I have been agonizing over both of these spots for months.
Although, I did not accomplish my original pillow plan or fill up every part of the display case...it felt good to move forward. It makes the space more welcoming and warm. Perhaps someone may even read a book by the window or comfortably sit to watch the bird feeder that hangs from a nearby tree? Or admire the pots and dream up a trip to New Mexico?
I also (mostly) planned out our summer with trips and camps. I sent a very belated birthday present. I wrote some overdue letters. Did some filing. Paid some bills. Put away some christmas lights. Came up with a belated chore chart. Ordered some new sheets. Bought the camp uniform and trunk. Washed a whole lotta laundry.
This frenzy of organization was fueled (in part) by a delicious meal of baked spinach and pea risotto. Everyone who has ever labored over a pot of risotto - stirring and adding broth, stirring and adding broth - should make this easy, yummy meal.
And just so we know I am still me, and not some new organizational hero,...
the laundry has yet to be folded.
